JOB SUMMARY 

Responsible for providing engineering support for local power generating facilities and thermal energy facilities for Lincoln Electric System (LES) and District Energy Corporation (DEC). Project management execution for small to medium sized projects from project conception through completion, including defining the detailed project scope with necessary stakeholders and maintaining project budgets and schedules. Also includes material selection, bid evaluations, supervision of contractors and consultants, preparation of feasibility studies, and creating specifications for associated equipment. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal guidance. Consistent and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Performs engineering and technical project management related to the construction and maintenance of proposed and existing facilities, systems, and/or programs in assigned area of responsibility. 
  • Monitors the work of consultants, contractors, and equipment suppliers.  
  • Performs electrical engineering analysis and studies related to the National Electric Code (NEC) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70E and 70B standards. (Electrical)  
  • Collaborates with peers and other internal departments to prepare documentation, evidence, and policies related to applicable SPP, MRO, and NERC regulatory standards.  
  • Familiarity with various programable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), human machine interfaces (HMIs), and industrial communication protocols including Modbus. (Electrical/Controls)  
  • Provides project management and engineering support for local power generating facilities and thermal energy facilities, which may require reporting to those facilities on a routine or regular daily basis.

REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

Engineer ($81,166 - $101,458) - Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.  

 

Engineer III ($93,342 - $116,678) - Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related field, and at least three years of progressively responsible engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
