This position will perform duties in the Resource & Transmission Planning department of the Power Supply division. The department’s primary responsibilities consist of planning for the utility’s future generating resource needs and the transmission system modifications required to serve both those resources and the LES service area. These efforts involve a wide array of tasks, but typically include the following: 

  • Continuous evaluation of new generation and load management technologies. 

  • Acquiring and administering renewable energy power sources. 

  • Tracking the performance of LES’ individual generating resources and making recommendations for optimizing the overall generation portfolio. 

  • Analysis of the LES and regional transmission system. 

  • Ongoing coordination and participation in regional transmission planning efforts. 

  • Recommendations for future transmission system additions and/or modifications. 

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE  

  • Engineer ($81,166 -$101,458) - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. 

  • Engineer III ($93,342 - $116,678) - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, and at least three years of progressive engineering experience in area of assignment. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. 

  • Senior Engineer ($107,342 - $134,178) - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, and at least six years of progressive engineering experience in area of assignment. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully
