JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for management and strategic direction of the division including transmission, distribution, metering, and substation planning, engineering, design, operation and maintenance and control center operations. Specific responsibilities include safety, monitoring service delivery within the division, setting strategy for future facility, system and customer needs, ensuring reliability of the bulk electric system, regulatory compliance and fostering positive union relations. This position is part of the executive leadership of LES, and as such is expected to demonstrate experience, skills and abilities consistent with a senior leader in a large, complex organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND CORE COMPETENCIES
- Sets strategy for division’s leadership and oversees all functions of the division including delegation of assignments and projects, supporting completion of and completing performance management duties, ensuring training is completed, appropriate staffing levels are maintained for the division, and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary decisions.
- Drives and implements the strategic plan initiatives for the division regarding vision, mission, short-term and long-term goals, fiscal priorities, overall performance standards including industry benchmarking, performance goals, business plans, etc.
- Provides skilled leadership at the executive level that delivers a safe, productive, collaborative, and heathy work environment, intended to achieve outstanding employee experience. Provides visible and effective executive leadership in operational safety programming.
- Engages as a member of the LES Executive Leadership Team, the organization’s senior leadership responsible for setting and implementing strategy, providing tactical and operational guidance, and collaborating to ensure aligned and effective delivery of LES services.
- Establishes engineering strategy and priorities that enhance operational efficiency and align technical execution with company goals for grid modernization.
- Develops strategic roadmaps to implement advanced technologies that improve real time analytics, automation, reliability, and resiliency of the grid.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates departmental policies, procedures, strategies, and goals; maintains, updates, and ensures procedural compliance for mandated programs.
- Oversees the development of the division’s budget and monitors, analyzes, and interprets results of financial and operational results to identify trends and recommends actions for variances between budgeted and actual.
- Directs the efforts of special projects for the organization to include negotiation of contracts and related documents, project implementation, communications to the Board, etc.
- Assists with communication and information efforts with community groups to ensure public understanding of system operations and construction activities.
- Participates in the organization’s risk management, disaster recovery, and business continuity efforts regarding critical system infrastructure.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Electrical engineering principles as applied to the operation of an electric utility
- Electric utility industry construction standards and practices
- Accounting and financial management principles, especially as applied to the electric utility business
model. - Knowledge of Emergency Management principles and practice. Training in Incident Command System
(ICS) preferred.
REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, and
- At least ten years of progressively responsible experience, including management experience in
area of assignment; or, - An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the
essential duties of the job.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Registered Professional Engineer preferred
