We are looking for a motivated and curious Software Developer Intern to join our Technology Services Department and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. As a Software Developer Intern, you will collaborate with experienced developers to design, develop, test, and maintain internal applications and systems that support our business operations. You’ll have the opportunity to work with modern programming languages, frameworks, and tools while contributing to real projects that make an impact. The ideal candidate is currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field, has a strong foundation in software development principles, and is eager to learn, problem-solve, and grow in a collaborative team setting. This internship offers valuable mentorship, practical experience, and the chance to build a strong foundation for a successful career in technology. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND COMPETENCIES

Under direct supervision, provide professional support in the areas of assignment while learning the specifics of working in a utility setting. Specific duties may include research, analyzing processes, and writing and testing software. Develop knowledge and skills related to SAP/ABAP programming needed to complete assigned projects on time and efficiently. Coding proficiency required in a modern programming language such as JAVA, Python, C#, Visual Basic, etc. This assignment can be full or part time during the summer and part time during the semester (must have consistent, scheduled hours). Consistent and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.

  •    Analyze processes and data and make recommendations for future state.
  •    Research and propose new processes and technologies for application to the department and company.
  •    Writes supporting reports and complete special projects which will require researching, analyzing, and interpreting different types of reference material which address current or proposed projects.
  •    Collaborates with staff and management to identify applicable project and system requirements.
  •    Assists in developing standards, procedures, user guides, training, and/or other related documentation.

REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  •    Working on bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
