CORE COMPETENCIES & ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Constructs, operates, maintains and restores electrical line facilities and operates substations in accordance with LES design standards and established policies, safety rules, procedures, and practices. Performs emergency and overtime work as necessary. Consistent and reliable attendance is required. Rotating day and night shifts.
- Performs duties on both energized and de-energized streetlight, transmission and distribution lines, and substations while ensuring the safety of themselves, fellow workers, and the general public to include restoration, operation, and maintenance of electric service to LES customers.
- Operates and maintains tools, equipment, and safety devices necessary for the construction and maintenance of streetlight, transmission, and distribution lines and operation of substations.
- Performs customer related activities regarding voltage complaints, outage notifications, load and voltage surveys.
- Patrols all streetlights in LES service areas, making necessary repairs as required.
- Performs artificial respiration, pole top resuscitation, bucket rescue, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and emergency first aide, when necessary.
- Completes accurate reports and electronic forms for area of assignment such as work orders, time sheets, SAP work tickets, accident and injury reports, etc.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Associates degree in related field, and
- Construction work experience involving line technician work with four years of progressively responsible experience, or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

- Successful completion of a Line Technician 1st Class Exam
