In this role, you will partner closely with Energy Delivery, to champion a strong safety culture across transmission, distribution, and substation operations. JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the coordination and implementation of corporate safety programs, with a focus on the Energy Delivery (ED) division. The Field Safety Lead serves as a trusted safety expert for field operations, providing hands-on safety leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to crews and safety staff. This role partners with line technicians, supervisors, and operations leaders by combining strong field engagement with disciplined safety programs - such as procedures, training, and risk analysis - to reinforce safe work practices and strengthen a practical safety culture. Drawing on prior experience as a field craft professional, the Field Safety Lead brings credibility, sound judgment, and real-world insight to safety discussions. In addition to supporting frontline crews, this role mentors and develops newer safety professionals, helping build field competency, consistency, and confidence across the safety function. This position is an individual contributor role with significant influence and visibility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND CORE COMPETENCIES
- Serve as a visible safety leader, regularly engaging with crews to observe work practices, identify hazards, and provide real-time coaching and guidance.
- Develop, review, and implement safety procedures, standards, and training materials related to field operations.
- Act as a subject matter expert for line operations safety, including electrical hazards, switching, grounding, PPE, work zone safety, and emergency response.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with field employees and supervisors by communicating safety expectations in a practical, respectful, and credible manner.
- Mentor and coach field employees, providing guidance on engagement, hazard recognition, communication with crews, and professional development.

- Working knowledge of applicable safety regulations and industry best practices.
REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Associate’s degree or technical degree in area of assignment, and
- Construction work experience involving line technician work with four years of progressively responsible experience, or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Valid driver’s license
- National Incident Management System certification, preferred
